the best sneaker releases of September 2026 (part 1)

The summer of 2026 was a little slow from a sneaker releases perspective. There was some decent stuff but nothing that sparked long lines, online havoc, or mall brawls. September seems to be a continuation of this trend: some solid releases but nothing that’s going to threaten any year end lists.

These lists are in no particular order but in the event that something stands head and shoulders above everything else, I’ll call it out.

Adidas x Pokemon (9/1/26)

Source: Sneaker News

This is a pretty crazy release due to the volume of releases, models, and Pokemon that are being featured. There’s 12 pairs overall, spanning many classic Adidas silhouettes and some of the most popular Pokemon. Some of my favorite are the Pinkachu Superstar Low (pictured above), the Mewtwo ZX8000, and the Gengar adiStar XLG 2.0. Some of these are absolutely wild and I expect the entire pack to be well received by Pokemon fans (especially kids looking for back to school kicks). Sneaker News has a really detailed write-up on the entire pack, which you can find here.

Nike Kobe Dunk Low Protro FC Barcelona (9/4/26)

I know that dunks are dead but I have news for you: they are still super easy to rock, they look good with everything, and Nike is still dropping some pretty decent pairs. While I think these are going to hit mostly with FC Barcelona fans, it’s a really good looking pair. Ignoring the patent leather panels and swoosh, these remind me of the Off-White x Nike Dunk 50/50. These will retail for $135. Honestly, the more I see them, the more I like them.

Air Jordan 4 “Tour Yellow” (9/5/26)

2025 and 2026 have been historic years in terms of Air Jordan 4 releases. Nike and Jordan brand have really turned the vault inside out and the Tour Yellow is just the latest pair to make a comeback. These first released back in 2006 and this is the first time they’ve gotten a retro release. This is going to drop in full family sizing and the adult pair will cost you $220. If early reviews are any indication, these seem to be pretty good. Chances are you’ll see me wearing these this time next month.

Air Jordan 7 “Tennis Day” (9/8/26)

Here’s a pair that look really cool, really unique, and one that I absolutely do not plan to buy. I really love the hairy suede and mesh, along with the subtle gray and punch you in the eye neon pink and green. The rope laces? OK, maybe I will buy these. These are going to set you back $215 and there’s no word on if they will be a SNKRS-only or wider release. Stay tuned.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro Camo (9/18/26)

Source: Nike

I love Foamposites and I love camo. I should be all in on this. I don’t know, the $250 price tag is really turning me off. It’s just so much to pay for a pair of sneakers that are going to be $160 around Black Friday. Regardless, this is a good looking sneaker. It’s a SNKRS release and will probably be pretty easy to grab on release day. If you want to risk it, wait around for them to go on sale. I guess I’m still smarting from that Stranger Things Foamposite release from earlier this year.
